Investing in the brightest

Peking University currently enrolls about 30,000 students, consisting of about 15,000 undergraduates, 10,000 Master candidates and 5,000 Doctor candidates. You may fund a scholarship or provide financial aids to make the University affordable for everyone; you may also assist students to be internationally competitive by giving to the Academic Innovation Fund, the Overseas Exchange Fund and the Social Practice Fund.

Choose a program to support

 Social Practice Fund
There are approximately 200 student associations on campus. The activities of sports and art they organize not only nourish students' self-cultivation but also provide opportunities for them to cooperate with each other, enriching their college life. Every summer, various social practice programs send participants to travel across the country to serve the local community. These activities are called "the Second Class" in which students are encouraged to learn and improve themselves from experiencing and serving.
By supporting social practice programs, you can help students to serve and learn from the society.
 Overseas Exchange Fund
Peking University enjoys a high reputation in the world. We have established exchange relations with other 240 universities in the world and have held students exchange programs and academic visits in about 20 universities including the Yale University, the University of Tokyo, and the University of Hong Kong, involving nearly 300 to 400 students every year. However, many outstanding students have to let go the opportunity of participating in these programs out of financial concerns.
Your gift will provide opportunities for students especially those in need to develop their leadership and the ability to adapt in global cultures.

 Academic Innovation Fund
Peking University encourages and provides substantial support to academic activities, including funds like the Hui-Chun Chin and Tsung-Dao Lee Chinese Undergraduate Research Endowment (CURE) founded in 1998 by Mr. Tsung-Dao Lee, and the President Fund for Undergraduates¡¯ Academic and Scientific Research established in 2002. Now the funds support more than 200 undergraduate academic programs every year. In these programs, students can receive comprehensive but also specific guidance from their tutors to do independent research which is an important preparation for their future academic career.
As a comprehensive and research-committed university, we endeavor to support more students in their academic performance. Your gift is the crucial driving force for our future leaders.

 Financial Aids
Peking University has been practicing the principle of enrollment based on academic achievements, and endeavors to fulfill the solemn promise: No one drops out from financial difficulty. It is estimated that RMB 12,000 is sufficient to cover one-year average cost for an undergraduate at Peking University, but about 15% of students are unable to afford the cost. Among those students, currently about 40% of them are covered by the financial aids. In addition to providing student loans and part-time opportunities, we expect the participation from you would become another important channel to ease the financial burdens of needy students.
 Scholarships
By funding a scholarship, you not only support the beneficiary students financially, but also intellectually and emotionally, for the honor and acknowledgement along with the scholarship will build up their confidence, put them into action and release their potentials.
With the generous gifts from alumni and friends, now we can provide scholarships for 8.7% of the students. However, those students only account for a very small portion of all the elite students. Any gift is welcome to extend the honor and support to more students.
