The campus of Peking University, known as ¡°Yan Yuan¡±--- gardens of Yan, was once a private garden of the imperial family in Qing Dynasty. Now it has become a key national historical and cultural site, with the beautiful Weiming lake and the solemn Boya tower surrounded by Chinese and western architecture. The enchanting scenery has attracted and inspired generations of scholars and students.
In recent years, Peking University has been advancing towards becoming a world-class leading university and has achieved comprehensive development in teaching and research. However, its further development has been challenged by insufficient facilities.
